30 July 2006 - "Cambridge Shorts” at the Edinburgh Fringe!

Into the Darkness and Black Box are showing on alternate days at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival throughout August.   The Edinburgh Fringe is a world famous festival and we are delighted that Cambridge Filmmakers are being represented.  C venue have only recently added film screenings to their programming and actually approached us when they found the Cambridge Filmmakers Network website and were impressed by our films.  "Cambridge Shorts”  is showing daily at C cubed venue 50 at 10am at a cost of only £4.50.  In fact if you see one you can see the second for half price!  There are hundreds of shows on during the festival but we are hopeful to get a reasonable turn out during the month.  For more information or to book tickets visit the fringe website:

6th June 2006 - The 'Into the Darkness' trailer and some bloopers videos are now available to view on a site called Revver.  Revver believe in helping out filmmakers and therefore split advertising money with us.  If people click on the advert left on the screen once they have viewed your video the filmmaker gets a small amount of money.

So please follow this link to view the Trailer and some Bloopers and click on the advert left on screen at the end.

Any money we manage to get will go towards making our future projects.  It's a great way to donate without actually paying anything yourself!  Thank you.

INTO THE DARKNESS (UK). The discovery of an ancient book leads Abigail down a path she never expected. Pursued by evil, haunted by the past, and guided by a stranger, known only as Michael, she must restore the balance or face a world of darkness. The best swordfight choreography we've ever shown. Okay, the only, but really, it's well done. http://www.actorsatworkproductions.com/intothedarkness.htm

... and possibly some special surprises from Emily! We'll also be presenting awards to our BEST OF SEASON ONE winners!

How cool is that!!

23rd March 06 - THE FILM IS FINISHED!!!   A Cast and Crew screening has been organised for Sunday 26th March in our own private screening room at Anglia Ruskin University here in Cambridge.  The room is basically a 50 seat mini cinema.  Not quite the grand premiere we were hoping for but Cineworld pulled the plug at the last minute and it was only after a lot of work that we managed to find such an excellent alternative.  It's been a hard road to get to this point but we did it and many of the team are coming back together to see the result of all their hard work.  Fingers crossed everyone likes it.

A new trailer is available on the media page.

2nd Feb 06 - Well we're into a new year so I thought I better give an update.  Due to a number of different reasons post production has taken a lot longer than hoped.  The film is now in the final stages with an original music score being composed.  I'm not even going to guess how long this might take but I'm hoping to have the screening in a couple of months.

27th Sept 05 - Link to mad&bad films new project BLACK BOX

23rd Sept 05 - Due to the pressure of other commitments, the Into the Darkness screening has been postponed to allow more time to complete the post production work.  We hope to have the screening in November now but dates are still to be arranged.

5th Sept 05 - Premiere style first screening arranged.  Cineworld in Cambridge are very kindly allowing us to have an evening screening of Into the Darkness including the Making of and bloopers etc on Monday 10th Oct 05.  Drinks from 6pm.  Youngblood Squad will be doing a fight display.  More information on the event will follow.  If you are interested in attending please send an email to team@actorsatworkproductions.com with "screening" in the subject line and let us know who you are and why you would like to attend.  Numbers are limited so a guest list will be in use.

22nd Aug 05 - 1000 hits on the website!!  True, half of that is probably me checking the site at every opportunity to see if anyone new has written in the guestbook and how many more hits it's had, but anyway, 1000 hits is great!

16th Aug 05 - A teaser trailer is now available on the Film page so go download it now.

Well post production is well under way and a rough cut of the final film has now (pretty much) been edited.  It's all a bit frantic at the moment as we've found a competition that Darkness is ideal for but the deadline is 26th August....NO PRESSURE!!    The 'making of' is also being worked on and we hope to get a few featurettes up on the website soon, as well as a teaser trailer.   Right that's all from me for now, back to the edit.

We have wrapped!

Well the really fun part is over. The film has wrapped and everyone has headed home to rest and 'recover'.  We filmed on 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 & 25th July and the post production phase is about to start.

It took a lot of effort from a lot of different people to shoot this highly ambitious film and we still have the arduous task of editing it all together. Thank you to absolutely everyone involved. You were all amazing!
